FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $18.54 - $24.10 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
Summary:
Under supervision of nursing team lead by registered nurse, learns how to work with patients experiencing acute behavioral health crisis.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors milieu, including observation and documentation of patient's behavior.
- Learns communication methods to work with patients experiencing symptoms of psychiatric illness.
- Gains knowledge of how to provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients with behavioral health diagnosis.
- Learns and follows pre-established guidelines to perform job responsibilities.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED, or in lieu of HS/GED, satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test is required.
- Advanced CPI within 30 days upon hire and then yearly recertification to meet the BHA rules and regulations 11.9.3D
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
